Counseling Services

I can see you with or without your insurance!  I have a sliding scale fee for those who do not have coverage.  I am also on the following insurance panels:  Aetna, Cigna, LifeSynch (Humana), Ceredian, Carolinas Behavioral.  If you see me with your Blue Cross, you will have to pay up front and be reimbursed by your insurance provider.    I work through many Employee Assistance programs.  Call me today!

 

  •  Whether you are faced with an immediate crisis or whether you are contemplating "reinventing your life," talking to an objective listener can help. 
  • Individual counseling is a good place to start, and I've always believed that "every counselor needs a counselor!"  No one individual has the wisdom that "two heads together" cannot surpass.

    •  I have recently updated my skills with training in individual and group critical incident stress debriefing training.
    • I have facilitated many critical incident debriefings, including responses to 9/11, bank robberies, plane crashes, hurricanes, deaths of employees, change in the workplace, stress management, and other situations where counselors were needed on the site of the incident or the workplace. 
    • I was employee assistance consultant for the Mid-Carolinas District of the USPS and consulted with managment, union, and individual workers about personal and workplace issues.  I organized and led groups to solve workplace problems.

    Sometimes, home is where the hurt is.  I have experience in divorce mediation, divorce recovery, and workig with children of divorce.  I understand how alcohol and drugs can impact a family.  I also know that one family member's life decisions can impact the whole family.  Do not hesitate to bring your issues to this safe environment.

    I teach Cultural Diversity for the University of Phoenix.  A portion of my family are from Pakistan, which has taught me to expand my vision of the world.  I welcome diversity in my practice.

    My undergraduate degree is in Bible from Mid-Atlantic Christian University.  I served in ministry in the Christian church for many years, and I had a practice in a pastoral setting in Pennsylvania for many years.  I respect the wishes of those who desire counseling from a Biblical perspective.

    I work through Military One Source to help families who are going through the difficult situations created by deployment.  This free service can help support and encourage families who are going through this difficult time.
